The USD 46 billion mega project involves the construction of roads, railway network, power plants, industrial parks and much more. A 15-year plan, CPEC, will be completed in four phases. It will link China's Xinjiang region with Pakistan's Gwadar Port. However, the indigenous people of Gilgit-Baltistan, a part of the erstwhile princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, are raising their voice against the project. Kashmiri nationalists, who are opposing the CPEC project, are outraged by the comments of Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif who said that any attempt to obstruct the project will be thwarted. Pakistan has been treating Gilgit Baltistan as its colony. The people of the region have been in a constant constitutional vacuum for over 65 years, as they have neither representation in the parliament of Pakistan nor any “constitutionally mandated” local assembly. They cannot raise their voice in national assembly and senate for economic, political and civil stability. The people of Gilgit Baltistan believe that the CPEC is a new and deliberate attempt to change the demographics of the region. Gilgit Baltistan has an abundance of water resources, minerals worth billions of dollars and an ocean of undiscovered tourism potential. The two million people living in Gilgit Baltistan are distressed by the CPEC.

Peshawar, January 20, 2015: While the State of Pakistan's continues to connive with militants to disturb the peace in other countries, it is the common man who continues to suffer a great deal. One month after the gruesome attack on the army public school in Peshawar, the school reopened, the candle light vigils were held and a tough message was sent to militants and its backers within the State of Pakistan. Activists, campaigners and members of the civil society gathered in several cities across Pakistan on Friday (January 16) to mark one month since the deadly attack by Taliban gunmen on the Army Public School (APS) in Peshawar in which over 140 people, including 134 children, were systematically gunned down. In Islamabad, several parliamentarians came out to join a vigil outside Parliament House. In Lahore, around two hundred citizens lit candles in memory of those killed in the school attack.

On 18 of March 2014 Miroshnychenko entered by force into the office of the National Television Company of Ukraine together with other members of Svoboda party. There he assaulted the head of the company Oleksandr Panteleymonov and forced him to write a letter of resignation. European Commission president Jose Manuel Barroso said on Thursday that he will unveil a banking union proposal on September 12th. The proposal will coincide with his “State of the Union” speech at the European Parliament, and will outline a plan that could see the European Central Bank increasing its powers of supervision and intervention. The banking union is expected to focus on euro-zone members, as non-eurozone countries are likely to opt-out. EU leaders agreed at the last EU summit in June that more banking integration is the solution to stop governments bailing out debt-ridden banks. Meanwhile, EU Affairs ministers agreed on Thursday to hold an extraordinary summit in November to discuss the EU's next seven-year budget.
