A reasonable stance might be to try to look at the human species from the outside. So imagine that you’re an extraterrestrial observer who is trying to figure out what’s happening here or, for that matter, imagine you’re an historian 100 years from now — assuming there are any historians 100 years from now, which is not obvious — and you’re looking back at what’s happening today. You’d see something quite remarkable. http://goo.gl/m28aC

http://www.thejakartaglobe.com/business/economic-crisis-casts-shadow-over-biodiversity-talks/551489 The global economic crisis cast its shadow over UN talks that closed in India on Saturday after two weeks of intense wrangling on funding to reverse the decline of Earth’s natural resources. A deal was finally signed a day later than planned, after a succession of late-night sessions that pitted rich countries reticent to fork out more cash as they try to balance the books, against poor ones. Several traditional donor countries cited the world’s economic troubles as a factor in the talks, held under the auspices of the UN’s Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). “Countries like us in difficult financial times are making big sacrifices with taxpayers’ money. We want to make sure... that we are not leaving ourselves open to putting greater burden on our taxpayers,” British Environment Minister Richard Benyon told AFP on the penultimate day of the negotiations. In the end, the deadlock was broken and developed states pledged to double by 2015 the aid they provide to poor countries for biodiversity projects, compared to a baseline of average annual aid in the period 2006-2010. No figures were mentioned, but observer groups believed the new annual figure would amount to about $10 billion (8 billion euros) per year — just 10 percent of what global consumers spent on chocolate last year. Some negotiators, especially in the European Union, hailed the deal as a symbolic breakthrough in tough times. “In the context of the financial crisis, this is a good deal,” French Environment Minister Delphine Batho told AFP.

Richard L. Thompson also known as Sadaputa Dasa, was a mathematician, academic, author and American Vaishnava. He published several books and articles, including Forbidden Archeology: The Hidden History of the Human Race (1993), co-authored with Michael Cremo. With his writings on cosmology, Darwinism and religion, he is sometimes identified as a Vedic Creationist. Richard L. Thompson was a member of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (popularly known as the Hare Krishna movement or ISKCON) and a disciple of the movement's founder A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. He was also a founding member of the Bhaktivedanta Institute, an ISKCON academic think tank. He wrote two books on Hindu cosmology, Vedic Cosmography and Astronomy (1989) and Mysteries of the Sacred Universe (2000). In the latter work Thompson argued that the cosmology of the Bhagavata Purana, one of the classical texts of Hinduism, is "a sophisticated system, with multiple levels of meaning that encode at least four different astronomical, geographical, and spiritual world models." In his final book, Maya: The World as Virtual Reality (2003), Thompson utilized virtual reality as a metaphor for the Hindu concept of Maya: "The basic theme is that what we can imagine doing in a virtual reality system may actually be happening in nature on a vastly greater scale. Nature may be like a computer simulation interfaced with conscious observer / participant." The virtual reality model is also employed to show "how both paranormal phenomena and religious experiences can be reconciled in a natural way with the laws of physics." He died on September 18, 2008.

A lecture about esoteric self-observation, to learn how one's own psyche operates. To create an observer-observed split. Once one realizes that the ego is manifesting separate from one's own consciousness, one can realize that their psyche consists of more then one person, trying to live through a single persons body. First the ego must be observed, before it can be destroyed.

n 1970, college student/entrepreneur Joe Bryson bought Phil's Record Store, which sat in a shotgun location at W. 24th and Rio Grande Streets, and re-christened it Inner Sanctum Records, named after the 1940s radio show. The first time, I discovered it completely by surprise - an accident turned into an epiphany.
It started with a look that turned into a stare.
A smile that turned into a laugh.
A touch that turned into a hold.
We met in an old hotel, thrust deep into the highlands of Scotland, near a small town called Forres.
We met. We hugged.
By accident, I held on to the hold of another for just a little longer.
Extra milliseconds turned into full, juicy seconds.
Seconds "too long" to the casual observer.
But something mysterious happened in that "too long".
Strangers turned into dear old friends in just a few seconds, "too long"
Just a hug. Just a little longer. Not just people anymore --
A veil was dropped and a polite meeting dropped its act alltogether.
Allowing connections with tiger-like fiercity to forge between raw, real human beings.
There were three of us and we laughed.
Laughed everyday, dragging the laughter out a moment here, and a moment there, lasting it just a little ...

big belly dancers... Some particularly obese women enjoy performing belly dances for a variety of reasons. Many of these beasts simply like to be the center of attention and feel that their immense size is not sufficiently appalling to the casual observer. Others use belly dancing as a form of expression. Usually what they are expressing is that they are fat pigs. Still others use belly dancing as a form of exercise. Whatever the case, it is important to remember not to sit too close to big belly dancers whilst they are performing, for if one of them gyrates quickly and without warning, the observer may be in an unsafe situation. http://www.dvdfitness.net

Man brandishing nightstick says, 'We're tired of white supremacy 'By Chelsea Schilling WorldNetDaily
Black Panthers blocked a doorway to a polling station and intimidated voters in Philadelphia, according to a Republican poll observer.
After one of two men wearing Black Panther gear brandished a nightstick to threaten voters, the poll observer called police.
"As I walked up, they closed ranks, next to each other," he told Fox News. "So I walked directly in between them, went inside and found the poll watchers. They said they'd been here for about an hour. And they told us not to come outside because a black man is going to win this election no matter what."
He said he then walked back outside and the man with a night stick told him, "'We're tired of white supremacy' and he starts tapping the night stick in his hand. At which point I said, 'OK, we're not going to get in a fist fight right here,' and I called the police."
Officers escorted the man with the night stick away from ...

This is the first of a three part miniseries featuring our favorite demonic hero, Hellboy. If you are a fan of the character this is a great way to get ramped up for the movie coming out in a few weeks here. Like most mini series our hero is more of an observer here being drawn into the supernatural crisis of others. The art is cool and really portrays the demonic nature of the characters wells. The crooked man is especially creepy and it looks like things will really ramp up in the next two issues. The issue reads really well in that the characters truly come alive as you read the dialogue. Mike Mignola really does a good job of connecting you with the character and making them real. This isnât a must read but itâs a great way to get ready for the Hellboy mania that is yet to come this summer or for a new reader to explore the character.
