http://www.musclecaroftheweek.com - We like the volumes of comments we receive about our Muscle Car Of The Week videos, and this week, we're taking a few moments to respond to some of the recent feedback. We're also taking the opportunity to promote the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show (MCACN) this November in Rosemont, IL. http://www.mcacn.com
This week, we're bringing you a 1970 Buick GS Stage 1 4-speed Convertible from the Brothers Collection display at the 2014 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals! In addition to this being a real 4-speed convertible with air conditioning, this car is sporting some very unique wheel covers as well.
http://www.musclecaroftheweek.com - This is one of the more unusual cars in the Brothers Collection, a Lime Gold 1967 Ford LTD XL featuring a factory installed 425 HP R-Code 427 and 4-speed manual transmission. There were only a handful of these cars ordered in this configuration, and we share the details in this video shot at the 2014 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals in Chicago.
http://www.mcacn.com - The Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals featured many special displays in 2014, one being a Chrysler Hemi Invitational. The scene featured a row of Hemi cars of all flavors, and we stopped to chat with Dan Haston about the '65 A990 record-holding race Hemi car he brought to the show.
http://www.mcacn.com - If there were a "Long Distance" award for the 2014 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals, it would have to go to John Clements and his 2013 Ford FG FPV 335 Falcon GT. John had his GT shipped all the way from Australia to enjoy some time cruising the US, and shared it with the gearheads at the MCACN show in Chicago.
Back in 1969, Hurst built 3 1969 Olds Cutlass convertibles to showcase their shifters, and they brought the lovely Linda Vaughn along to add to the over-the-top presentation. One burned, one is accounted for, but the 3rd went missing. These Oldsmobiles are far beyond the regular 442, as they featured a 455 cube big block Olds under the hood, backed by a 3 speed shifted by - of course - a Hurst shifter. The white and gold paint scheme was wild, but it's impact was not even close to the giant a Hurst shifter mounted on the trunk mounted platform modeled by Ms. Golden Shifter Linda Vaughn! Recently, this car was discovered as being one of the 3 authentic cars, was added to the Brothers Collection, and was treated to a spectacular restoration by Level 1 Restorations. When completed, it was unveiled to the public by Linda herself at the 2012 The Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals. This special presentation features an interview with William Wheeler, the man who drove this car every day back in '69 as the Vice President of Hurst Airheart Brakes. The iconic Olds is ready once again to wow the crowds at drag strips with Linda waving to the crowds from the platform and giant Hurst shifter!
This week, we have an extra special feature from the Brothers Collection. Back in 1967, Bill Mitchell and the GM styling division built a custom Camaro convertible called the "Cherokee", featuring styling touches that previewed the forthcoming 1968 Corvette. In this video, we not only feature the freshly restored original show car car, but speak with renowned customizer Charley Hutton about the car and it's meticulous restoration. Shot at the 2013 Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals in Rosemont, IL.
The 1967 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 still stands as one of the most desirable of all Camaros. We ran into Charley Lillard at the 2013 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals and he took some time to tell us about this red 1967 Z/ 28 that is full of interesting options and is hiding an aluminum engine under the hood!
http://www.musclecaroftheweek.com - We've featured some pretty rare cars on Muscle Car Of The Week, and this one tops the list! This 1969 Plymouth Road Runner convertible would be cool with any power plant, but the fact that the Air Grabber hood is hiding an original 425 HP 426 HEMI V8 coupled to a 4-speed transmission makes this one of the rarest 'Runners out there! Reports claim 10 of these cars were equipped with the 426 HEMI in drop-top form, and only a couple are said to exist today. This F8 Green monster was featured at the 2013 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals in the Road Runner Invitational display and is one of the prized Plymouths in The Brothers Collection.
http://www.mcacn.com - One of the coolest displays at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals is the "Barn Finds & Hidden Gems" display, which showcases cars and trucks as they were discovered in their present and unrestored states. In this video, we take a look at a 1969 Ford Mustang BOSS 429 that was reported to be raced many years ago, and was displayed along with its new engine and vintage 1967 Ford cab-over race car hauler.
http://www.mcacn.com - They say nothing goes together like hot cars and Rock & Roll music, and there was a fantastic theme display at the 2014 Muscle Car And Corvette Nationals that showcased them both! The "Color My World" display demonstrated the wild array of colors offered in the Muscle Car era, and Patrick Krook was there to show us a new line of G&L Guitars that are painted to match.
http://www.mcacn.com - The Chevrolet option code "L89" holds special meaning for Muscle Car fans, and in this video, we learn why! 1969 Chevelle SS Deluxe 300 Post Sedan registry owner Dan Vasic brings us up to speed, and also shows us a super-rare 1969 Deluxe 300 Post Sedan SS 396 with the L89 aluminum head option.. one of only 7 known to exist!
The Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals is more than a car show, it celebrates all elements of the hobby including showcasing some of the best artists in the genre. We spoke with David Snyder about how he creates his automotive Americana artwork by hand, and how he recently helped raise over $100,000 for children's cancer research. The European commission on Thursday welcomed France's plans to open its labour market to Roma migrants, most of them from Romania or Bulgaria.
The French government also agreed on scrapping the current tax employers have to pay to hire nationals from the two countries. This tax can be as high as 1800 euros per worker.
Brussels urged the French authorities to lift the existing working restrictions as soon as possible.
Earlier this month, the French police evicted over 300 Roma migrants and dismantled the illegal camps they were living in, creating a huge controversy.
France's socialist government was accused of following the steps of former conservative president Nicolas Sarkozy, who expelled a large number of Roma migrants during his mandate.
Brussels has already warned France they should come up with alternative housing solutions for those living in the destroyed camps.

The 1969 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 has been called the "Holy Grail" of Camaros, as it featured an all-aluminum 427 V8, race-prepped TH400 transmission and 12 bolt rear axle, and they only produced 69 of them. The 2011 Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals held in Rosemont, IL, featured not one.. but 17 of these ultra-rare Camaros. Here, we speak with Jeff Murphy about his ZL1 and the unique restoration showing the car in ready-to-race form.
The 2011 Muscle Car And Corvette Nationals (MCACN) show is perhaps the most significant muscle car show in the world, and we don't say that lightly. This year, the show consisted of over 16 authentic 1969 ZL1 Camaros (out of the 69 built,) 4 1971 HemiCuda convertibles (out of the 7 built,) and hundreds of other muscle cars on the same level or significance and rarity. Here, event organizer Bob Ashton takes us through some of the highlights. Part 2 of 2.
