Olympic gold medalist Buster Crabbe helms this classic western film: Devil Riders. Crabbe is most noted for his portrayals of Tarzan and Flash Gordon, but it’s not to be forgotten that he was a darn good cowboy as well. Backing up Crabbe is riotous comic relief Al “Fuzzy” St. John. The two cowboys must save a stagecoach line from going under due to harassment by outlaw gangs, which is pretty standard fair for westerns. What takes Devil Riders to the next level is the excellent performance from the beautiful and talented Patti McCarthy, who plays the stagecoach owner’s daughter. All in all, Devil Riders keeps to a brisk pace and has plenty of tough shootouts.
