The series starts with Will (the main character) on his first day at a new school. Previously Will attended a private school but because of money problems, has been relocated to a state school. The experiences of his first day include being bullied by fellow students and insulting his head of sixth form, Mr Gilbert. Later on in the episode he meets the three other main characters: Simon, Jay and Neil. After hearing about a student gathering organised for later that evening at a local pub, Will decides to join them. Trying to impress his new-found friends, the underage Will attempts to illegally purchase alcohol. After failing to convince the bartender of his eligibility for the purchase, Will vents his frustration and, as a result, reveals the underage status of all the students, getting them all thrown out.

It's Will's first day at his new sixth form college. He previously went to a private school, but since his dad walked out on his mum he's had to downgrade to the local comprehensive. And if his life already wasn't tough enough, Will hastily makes enemies out of his head of sixth form and the school psycho. In an effort to fit in, Will attaches himself to what he considers an average group of boys and tags along with them as they attempt to get served in a pub for the very first time.
