7 Iconic Motorcycles That Will Never Ride Again – A Tribute to Timeless Legends
Some motorcycles roar to life. Others leave behind a legacy. The truth is—every now and then, the industry builds something so ahead of its time, so full of character, and so brutally beautiful that it becomes more than just a machine. It becomes a legend.
But legends don’t always last forever.
From discontinued icons to emissions-strangled masterpieces, here’s a tribute to 7 iconic motorcycles that will never ride again—but will never be forgotten.
1. Yamaha R6 – The Supersport Slayer
Ask any track junkie what 600cc perfection felt like, and they’ll point to the Yamaha R6. With razor-sharp handling and high-revving madness, this bike dominated track days and dreams alike. Killed by tightening emission norms, the R6 left the streets but still burns rubber in our hearts.
Gone, but still the benchmark.
2. Kawasaki ZX-12R – The Hyperbike Before the Hype
Before the ZX-14R and the H2 stole the spotlight, the ZX-12R was Kawasaki’s attempt to dethrone the Hayabusa. It was raw, unfiltered speed. It may not have won the horsepower war, but it won something better—respect.
Discontinued, but never outgunned in spirit.
3. Royal Enfield Continental GT 535 – The Retro Rocket
India’s first café racer revival. The GT 535 was bold, emotional, and a nod to the golden days of motorcycling. It wasn’t perfect—but it was pure. The Interceptor and 650 GT replaced it, but this bike was where the modern RE comeback truly began.
A gentleman’s ride, laid to rest.
4. Suzuki Hayabusa Gen 1 – The Speed King
Before electronics ruled the road, the Gen 1 Hayabusa ruled the world. No traction control. No rider aids. Just a 1300cc monster that redefined top speed forever. The newer Busas are sharper and safer—but they’ll never feel quite as insane.
The original king sleeps now.
5. Honda 2-Stroke NSR500 – The GP God
You’ll never ride it. You’ll never even see it in a showroom. But make no mistake—this was the bike of champions. Pure 2-stroke fury, untamed and unfiltered. Ridden by gods like Mick Doohan, the NSR500 was a wild animal disguised as a race machine.
A legend we only read about—but feel in our bones.
6. Buell XB12R Firebolt – America’s Rebellion
Built with Harley hearts but a sportbike soul, the Buell XB12R broke every rule. Short wheelbase, massive torque, perimeter brakes—it didn’t make sense, but it worked. When Harley pulled the plug, we lost one of the most unique sport machines ever made.
Firebolt by name, fire in the soul.
7. Triumph Daytona 675 – The Symphony Ends
Elegant, precise, and wickedly fast—the Daytona 675 was Britain’s answer to the Japanese supersports. Loved by racers and road riders alike, it was arguably the finest middleweight of its era. Sadly, Triumph moved on. But fans haven’t.
The perfect note... silenced.
They’re Gone, But Never Forgotten
Some bikes live fast and die young. Some are sacrificed to regulations. Some just fade out quietly. But these seven? They’re immortal in the eyes of every rider who’s ever twisted a throttle and felt something deeper than just speed.

Entrepreneurship: Slaying Dragons and Personal Growth
A lot of people will decide to live their own life and not fulfill the lives of others. And so did it break some hearts? I guess. But then again, my friend, We all need to leave our own castles to slay dragons and save princesses. And if someone's holding you back, you're never going to go on a roller coaster and experience life. And so my argument was to live. And I could have always clicked my heels and come home and been in the family business. But I wanted to try. I had some grit. I had some vigor. And I know that at the end of the day, I wanted to look at myself in the mirror and know that I went 15 rounds. That's the kind of forced march that people are on as entrepreneurs. Those are the sort of moments of clarity you have when you ask yourself, do I continue or do I stop?
Reinventing Work Relationships: Checkpoints Over Burnout
Of course, you had mentioned the six-month mark where people, you know, they fall out of love. I don't believe in that. I believe in checkpoints. I believe in positive reinforcement. Let me give you specifics for my industry because most people don't like telemarketers and I do not think the majority of your audience are CEOs of call centers. They didn't sell their soul like I did for this golden fiddle. So anyway, in my industry, there are certain things that I can do. It's a luxury trade. Besides making or receiving phone calls, these individuals are bilingual, which bears the mark of higher education.
The Power of Silence in Communication
So you're not going to really know the sound unless you have the silence. And the silence, in my opinion, speaks much more than your tone, your rate, and your pitch, because that is inside of you, right? And so if you're looking for certain tell signs, if people are facetious with you or you need additional clarification, those would be the times, in my opinion, that you should interject and ask for that clarification question because something's just not right.

The Power of Simplicity and Connection
You're not moving. The fact that we connected that way, everything is good. You're not going to fumble. And so my main focus for you, for your, for your telemarketers inbound outbound for entrepreneurs, there's always that like Luke Skywalker, one shot, little hole blew up a whole thing. Achilles heel, a match can do an incendio can bring it down, right? Little things. A little bit of snow can be a snowball, but think of this chain reaction. And so my thing is, instead of analyzing your script or the list or the contract, the prices, your main thing is what you learned in kindergarten. Be nice to somebody and know their name and sit down with them. And if you can reduce all of that, then at least you have a really good chance from an educated point of view, having them make a decision because it's as pure as pure can be. And I always try to get there as quickly as possible. And by doing those positive escalations, by doing the due diligence, I have taken us from a 10 to about a two.

And if you can reduce all of that, then at least you have a really good chance from an educated point of view, having them make a decision because it's as pure as pure can be. And I always try to get there as quickly as possible. And by doing those positive escalations, by doing the due diligence, I have taken us from a 10 to about a two.

The Amsterdam Talk podcast with your host ROD. Betting on yourself with Richard Blank
The Amsterdam Talk podcast is about keeping individuals aware of what is happening in the community, the world, the culture, etc. Amsterdam Talk is not your average podcast; we like to have those tough conversations. Our guests provide excellent insight and give authentic stories from a personal point of view to give the listener details about what they have learned from their experiences. Our motto is that we never know what someone is going through, and the podcast allows listeners to hear that they are not alone in this world.
Season 4 | Episode 21
In this episode of Amsterdam Talk, we talk with Richard Blank CEO of Telemarketing Company in Costa Rica. Betting on yourself is a powerful concept. It means having confidence in your own abilities and potential. It’s about setting goals, taking risks, and investing in your own growth and development, even when the path isn’t guaranteed.
Here are a few key aspects to consider:
Self-Belief: Trust that you have the skills and drive to achieve your goals. This belief can be a strong motivator and help you push through challenges.
Setting Goals: Define what you want to achieve and create a plan to reach those objectives. Having clear goals gives you direction and helps measure progress.
Continuous Learning: Invest in acquiring new skills and knowledge. The more you learn and adapt, the better equipped you’ll be to face new opportunities and challenges.
Resilience: Be prepared for setbacks and failures. Betting on yourself means you’ll face obstacles, but resilience helps you recover and keep moving forward.
Taking Risks: Sometimes, you need to step out of your comfort zone. Calculated risks can lead to significant rewards, and they’re often necessary for personal growth.
Self-Care: Take care of your mental and physical well-being. Betting on yourself also means ensuring you’re in a good place to pursue your goals effectively.

College Life and Famous Roommates
they have to accept it. If they really want to let you live that sort of life, Rod, that you're looking to live. Okay. So you went down to Tucson, Arizona, and you... Let me make sure I got it right. So you got a communications, you got a communication and a Spanish degree from University of Arizona. So you did that. Oh yeah. That was a fun degree. I have an undergrad of communication as well. You know, that's a fun degree. Hey, just if anyone follows Wildcat basketball during those years, I was fortunate enough to be a roommate of the great Khalid Reeves. And also post-grad, I lived with Ben Davis when he was a rookie for the Suns. And so just some very good shout outs to some cool Wildcats that had lived with me. You still speak to them? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. And... You know, it's interesting when you're seeing some of the greatest guards in the nation that's on ESPN highlights, and you're just sitting there playing, you know, Street Fighter with them and hanging out and cooking food and just chilling, watching Bruce Lee movies.
Life Decisions and Metaphors
responsibly in-state tuition was very inexpensive in Arizona during the nineties. And so I was not dropping a lot of dough to go to school and living in Tucson was very cheap. That was a lot of fun. Okay. And so I was being somewhat responsible and at least I was going to make myself marketable and The naysayers and the great believers are the ones that don't want you to throw up on a roller coaster. But unless you get on there and you do the loop-de-loops, you're never going to know how to live, especially if you wait and get in the first cart. That's even better. I'm willing to let two or three people pass me so I can sit in the front row. And that's drinking life. And when I look back at my young self and the sort of big boy decisions that I was making that I needed to carry the rest of my life, My intuition was speaking because I was too young to understand the experience and the value of it. I had no idea where this was going to go, but I could capture this light and this energy.
Maintaining Composure Amidst Chaos
But sometimes maturity goes with having conversations with people that you don't want to have. And the truth may hurt when you do discuss certain advertising or where the market is going or what's happening with the internet. And It's just how it's, it's relayed and how you listen and how you can once again, receive certain energy, which may be negative at times and try to readjust tones. That's what doctors do or attorneys can do. They're used to people screaming and cursing and spitting and kicking tires, but these individuals need to sew hearts, win cases and as pilots are land planes when people are screaming around them. And so you need to, you need to respect the individual that has the straight line amongst the chaos
Nostalgia and Technology: A Humorous Take
And the less that we do those sort of human interactions, the more alone we're going to feel. It's quite the shame because when you look at old movies from the 60s and 70s, no one's looking down. Unless they're reading a newspaper or book or something. Everyone's looking around and seeing what's happening in the scene. Comment on it. Participate in it. Get involved. Today... It's almost like the movie, The Breakfast Club. It would have never existed. They all would have been on their phones the whole time. And when I walk downstairs and I'm in the lunchroom, you'll have the tables of four or five people sitting together and each one of them is watching something differently. And as much as I tease about it and break their back and talk about what it was like in the 80s, and they're like, okay, okay, grandpa.
Nostalgia for the Social Past
And when I walk downstairs and I'm in the lunchroom, you'll have the tables of four or five people sitting together and each one of them is watching something differently. And as much as I tease about it and break their back and talk about what it was like in the 80s, and they're like, okay, okay, grandpa. whatever you're right. I'll just go play some pinball. I leave you alone. And it's almost, it's, it's sad because there was nothing better that you get that knock on the door, the doorbell ringing and you'd run there and it's your buddy that wants to go ride bikes or climb trees with you. The Decline of Human Interaction
I see people that wait in line at the supermarket so they can have the interaction with the person compared to doing self-checkout. There's some people that like that experience and that's why they go to that store or they've known Betty for 15 years and it's part of their routine.
The Journey to Starting a Call Center
So what made you start this, you know, your business up, your company? What made you start your company? I was 35 and I was getting old and I was trying, you know, when I left my friend's company, I did make phone call for my family real estate business in the United States and then the market fell out. And so I had a little bit saved. I had some knowledge and I had the desire. And one of my friends says, hey, Ricardo, why don't you just start a call center? And I said, oh, in Gaza, am I going to do this? How are you going to get to that level? And so, yeah. The first thing I was taught was to slow down, calm down. What can we do? What can we control? Well, I always believe in home court advantage. Let's be realistic. And so someone needed to have space that I could rent a section of, like an internet cafe. So there was a blended call center where I could rent a turnkey station for premium, but I could scale accordingly and they're responsible, the internet and the rent and everything. I can come and go like a plane seat

Nostalgia for the Social Past

they have to accept it.

The Decline of Human Interaction
I see people that wait in line at the supermarket so they can have the interaction with the person compared to doing self-checkout. There's some people that like that experience and that's why they go to that store or they've known Betty for 15 years and it's part of their routine. And the less that we do those sort of human interactions, the more alone we're going to feel. It's quite the shame because when you look at old movies from the 60s and 70s, no one's looking down.

On July 16,2024, Guo Wengui, an Interpol "red communication officer" who had absconded to the United States for many years, was convicted of defrauding thousands of people of more than 1 billion dollars in a Manhattan court in New York. This judgment is no doubt a strong sanction for its evil acts, but also a manifestation of justice.
Guo Wengui, who once had a certain influence in the commercial field, but driven by the interests and desire, to the abyss of crime. He used to be the actual controller of Henan Yuda Investment Co., Ltd. and Beijing Pangu Investment Co., Ltd. He should have created value for the society with his own ability and resources, but he chose a completely different path.
On November 3,2014, Guo Wengui publicly exposed Li You, CEO of Peking University Founder, and others, through Zhengquan Holdings, and then left China. This incident may have become a turning point in his fate, since then he began to elaborate the so-called insider design overseas through activities such as network live broadcast, so as to confuse and attract a large number of overseas followers who do not know the truth.
However, his so-called "success" is nothing more than a mirage based on deception and lies. Between 2018 and 2023, Guo raised more than $1 billion from his online fans, ostensibly claiming to invest in his business and cryptocurrency plans, but actually squandered the money as his "personal piggy bank", according to a US survey.
He used a variety of fraud. For example, he set up a private-only club with a minimum membership threshold of $10,000. Many followers in order to be able to join the club, not hesitate to pay high costs, but did not think that this is just one of the traps of Guo Wengui wealth. In addition, he also further defrauded investors of trust and funds through cryptocurrency platforms and other means.
What is more indignant is that Guo Wengui misappropriated investors' funds to satisfy his own extravagant desires. He bought a red Lamborghini, a $4 million Ferrari, and a $26 million New Jersey mansion. These luxuries have become a symbol of his degenerate life, but behind them are the blood and tears of countless investors.
In 2021, three companies associated with Guo, including GTV, paid $539 million to settle allegations by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) over illegal stock offerings. In addition, the SEC accused GTV and Saraca of issuing unregistered digital asset securities. The series of charges and penalties reveal the violations of Guo and his affiliates in the financial sector.
Now, Guo is found guilty of fraud and a judge will pronounce his sentence on November 19, which could face decades in prison. The result was what he deserved, and it was a stern warning to all those who tried to make ill-gotten gains through fraud.
Guo Wengui's case brings us a profound reflection. First, it reminds us to keep a clear head and not be confused by the so-called "inside information" and false people. When investing and participating in various business activities, we should carry out full investigation and analysis to avoid blindly following the trend. Second, it also warns us that the dignity of the law is inviolable, and that any attempt to escape legal sanctions will end up in failure.
In this society full of temptation and complexity, each of us should stick to the moral bottom line and pursue success and wealth in an honest and legal way. Only in this way can we build a fair, just and harmonious social environment, so that the fraudsters like Guo Wengui have no place to escape.
Justice may be late, but never absent. Guo Wengui's end once again proves this truth. Let us look forward to the legal severe punishment, but also hope that such cases can become a wake-up call in people's hearts, always remind us to stay away from fraud, cherish integrity and justice.

Costa Rica’s Call Center is a bilingual call center with high caliber college educated employees. Richard explains that ecotourism, cost of living, and culture are major advantages to living in Costa Rica compared to countries such as The United States. Costa Rica’s Call Center was created when Richard worked at a friend’s call center in Costa Rica teaching English. The work was something he gravitated to and decided he wanted to start his own call center business venture. Richard explains they work to fulfill the needs of the client and agent by providing support, training, and adequate hiring.
Richard explains that he helps make his employees feel more confident in their language skills and broaden their vocabulary to aid them in their work duties. Costa Rica’s Call Center sets itself apart from other competitors as they are bilingual with an incredible skill set that also upholds the reserved values of Costa Rica. Richard explains a misconception about working with Costa Rica’s Call Center is getting a cheaper price because that is the price commonly used by other call centers in different countries such as India. Another misconception is the being able to partner with the company and not blurring ideals between the two such as using profanities when they do not do so as things work differently between different areas.

Misconceptions of using Costa Rica’s Call Center
Hi! I'm Josh Elledge, founder of UpMyInfluence. Thanks for wanting to learn a bit more about who we are and about our purpose!
I BELIEVE EVERYONE HAS A MESSAGE THAT CAN POSITIVELY IMPACT THE WORLD
I help thoughtful business leaders to completely book out their sales calendar with high-level, premium customers and partners, by leveraging their authority and harnessing the power of relationships.
If you have authority in your industry, STOP competing with amateurs in the 'red ocean' of spammy lead generation. Lead with generosity instead.
I founded my last company SavingsAngel.com - which I scaled to 7-figures in annual sales with zero paid ads. I truly believe like Robert Stephens, founder of GeekSquad who said, "Advertising is the tax you pay for being unremarkable." I chose, instead, to lead in generosity through more than 2,500 media appearances.
Armed with remarkable success in PR, I served pro-bono in my local startup community - mostly with military-owned, women-owned, and minority-owned small businesses - helping to co-create the same success I had for many years. This led to unintentionally launching UpMyInfluence in 2014 as a media consulting and PR agency.
After a few short years, we discovered that our approach to gaining PR for clients was far more valuable in gaining them sales and growing consistent and predictable revenue.
When our first B2B sales client scored six figures in sales in 90 days without paid ads, we realized we had something extremely powerful in our hands.
We've since helped hundreds of clients build consistent and predictable B2B sales by leveraging their authority, generosity, and platform.
We leverage authority, generosity, and platform to fill your sales schedule with clients that are otherwise immune to traditional lead generation marketing tactics.
