Live performance by Willy & The Wonkeye, recorded at the Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai by TMS Live China on August 29th 2021.
Willy & The Wonkeye is a vocal and guitar duo formed by Scotsman songwriter Chris Blair and Canadian guitarist Kevin Marsh. Much of their music contained themes of redemption and hope, family challenges and modern life struggles. From the countryside of Scotland to the alleys of Shanghai, their music comes from improvisions and spontaneous lyrics. Taking inspiration from artists such as Johnny Cash mixed with more Indie artists, vocalist Chris Blair is a poetic story teller who weaves melodies like a magician. Alongside Blair is guitar wizard Kevin Marsh, and together, they are Willy & the Wonkeye.
Some of their songs reveal an exquisite sensitivity that might touch people’s soul, some poetries sculpted into an array of distinct personal facts.
Willy & the Wonkeye was formed in 2017 in Shanghai. The pair were introduced through a mutual musician, and not long after their initial meeting, the two sat down in a studio to make some music. Immediately without rehearsal, discussion, or any preconceived ideas, they created four outstanding songs. This is the magic of Willy & the Wonkeye! They do not sit down and work on lyrics or chord progressions. They simply create their songs in real-time.

Taken from their last album, "Goodbye Blue Sky"
Here is the story behind their last album:
Goodbye Blue Sky is the seventh and final studio album by Godley & Creme. Released in 1988, the album generated two singles, "Little Piece of Heaven" and "10,000 Angels" as well as videos for those two singles.
The album featured backup vocals by three future members of 1990s dance band Londonbeat.
Making of[edit]
The album is notable through its use of harmonicas, which are used substantially on most tracks.
In a 1988 interview with Pulse! magazine, they said:
“ We also decided to use other musicians on the album for the first time ever, to get back to a real live band feel, and that's when we started auditioning harp players," adds Godley. "And to our surprise, we found that there's a huge range - everything from bass to treble - but that traditionally harmonicas are always played as solo instruments. They're never played in groups."
"So naturally we thought, 'Why not use a harmonica section?"' Creme continues. "And after auditioning a bunch of players, none of whom had ever played with another harp player, we finally selected two guys - Mark Felton (sic) and Mitt Gamon -and began laying down rhythm tracks at my home studio.
"Next, we brought in three black backup singers - George Chandler, Jimmy Helms and Jimmy Chambers - whom we'd met on the Paul Young video, and started building up the tracks. The interesting thing is that the more we got into the sounds, the more we began re-writing the songs to suit the singers or the harp players.

I was gonna use the Homeless Network, but network's overused. The Homeless Chronicles is already taken by a couple of different sources. Besides, 'homeless' implies being deprived of something, whereas, there is a lot to be gained by being free of owning and/or living in a place.

"This Old Radio" is a harp-based indie track that combines both subtlety and emotion. The entire video focuses on Anna Cate playing her harp and singing the song in her living room. This gives a certain intimacy to the song, kind of like getting to hear a private performance with no one else around. She sings about this old radio, one that a loved one used to play her favourite song on. The cinematography suggests that there is a longing in her life, perhaps for a life she used to have. The shaky, indie style of the camerawork allows the viewer to feel her distress and see that she truly means every word that she sings. To accompany the voice, she focuses much of the video on her fingers playing the harp. Her hands move with such grace and makes such a difficult instrument seem easy to play. Anna Cate's video is certainly one not to be missed. Email: tv@musicdish.net Website: http://www.annacatemusic.com

Steve Orchard's video "Titanic" from the brilliant new age, instrumental music album "Undersail" begins with a ghost ship, slow harp introduction, waves, and a scene of a lone diver with rays of sun shining onto the ocean. Viewers will become captivated by pictures of this grand ship being built. Initially, the deck and wheel of the ship are first shown in pristine condition, but as the video continues, it becomes one big wreckage at the bottom of the sea while the music guides you along the journey, tugging at your heartstrings all the way. The video and track allow you experience many difference feelings as you listen as secrets come to light and your mind connects to the music via images. The video is fascinating, and the pictures are touching and thought provoking. Strong percussion and a steady piano and harp grab you by the emotions and never let go as you feel yourself becoming part of the story, which is indeed a tragic one, but one that must be told nonetheless. It ends as it started, but with an ominous harp, and the waves are the last sound you hear. "Undersail" will be released by AD Music on CD and MP3, and available from iTunes and other major online retailers on April 13th. Rendezvous II by Jean-Michel Jarre
Just to clarify, It really works and I am *playing* (not miming) along to the Jean Michel Jarre track - and the track does have the laser harp notes on it - but I do play a bit without at the end - just to confirm it does work.
First test run of the embedded laser harp prototype. Using a 400mw laser and Arduino microprocessor to drive the galvanometers and detect the reflected light from the players hands.

Veracruz (East)
The Spanish influence in this eastern coast state is stark, as it was in early Tejas when Spaniards were issued large land grants as rewards. It was and still is an important trading port. The Spanish costume shows the white guayabera pants and shirts and red waist sash and straw hat.
The women wear imported white lace dresses; their hair up in buns in a comb and shawls, or rebozos, accompanied by fans. The style of dance: bambas, and huapangos, which are greatly influenced by flamenco steps.
The music is mostly acoustical, violin and harp, which were influenced during the conquest and also penetrated by elements of the Arab, African, German, Dutch, and other European cultures.
The African peoples who arrived during the Spanish colonization period as slaves, mainly to the coastal regions in the south of the country contributed greatly to the tropical rhythm.
Finally, note the secondary influence of inhabitants of the Caribbean islands, South American countries, the Southern states of the U.S., and some of the European countries which had a direct or indirect intervention in the early history of Mexico. Spanish names mostly replaced indigenous names.
Although this is "just a commercial", what you see and hear in the video is real. The guy you see is Petr Spatina and he makes music with 597 schott zwiesel crystal glasses.
