The Loop Pointer was first announced at CES in 2007. We covered it on GeekBrief.TV and I was excited about it. It didn't come out and I forgot about it. Monday, Hillcrest Labs finally released it an I ordered one from Amazon.com and I've been playing with it for about a day now and it rocks! On screen tracking was very precise. It doesn't require very much motion to move the cursor around the screen. The best part is the thumb scroll wheel. I wish every remote control had one. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with Front Row since Front Row doesn't support mouse navigation. It works beautifully with Windows Media Center and it's even better with Elgato's EyeTV Hybrid. It took quite a bit of practice to learn to click hypertext links on a Web site. It took about an hour before I got my aim right. The Loop is the most fun gadget I've played with this year and it works exactly like I hoped it would. It really makes me want to hook a Mac Mini up to my TV. It's also the best presentation controller I've ...
I'm back from Australia! I missed pretty much everything that happened in tech for the last two weeks, but the one thing I did hear about during the craziness was the Kindle DX. Its larger size makes it ideal for textbooks, newspapers and professional documents, and it comes with PDF support. If you're not familiar with the higher end speaker market, I've got a couple for you to take a look at today. The CAT MBX Speakers cost $560,000 per pair. Or, for about half the price, check out the Magico Ultimate speakers. HigherFi.com has even more to browse through. The CS3 Speakers go on my Gadget Lust List for their design, but I certainly won't be buying them at $3,000. PermaFLOW is a clear sink trap designed to let you see what's happening down your drain. It includes a knob that will sweep out things that get stuck. When you're thinking about gadgetizing your house, you can't skip over a robotic lawn mower. The Automower 260 ACX from Husqvarna will automatically mow your lawn and charge itself, has ...
My "PDA Love" or "Mobile Madness" began with Smartphones and it quickly progressed. I purchased a Motorola Q about 2.5 yrs ago and i loved the keyboard, but that phone grew to be the biggest pain in my side with e-mail (seeing how i was pulling in about 1,200+ e-mails daily from multiple accounts). The phone crashed repeatedly and drove me to drink (almost). The only good thing about it was the fact that it would automatically sync my calendar, contacts, e-mail and so forth on the spot. But, the more e-mails I had, the less memory and therefore, a non-functioning PDA (with NO LOVE)!! Verizon, always the helpers, hooked me up with my first BlackBerry. I decided to go Global and selected the BlackBerry 8830 World Edition. PEOPLE!!! This phone is THE STUFF! Okay! Okay! So, I "caught wind" of the BlackBerry Storm and HAD to have it. I'm an idiot. Seriously. The clicking and touchscreen is a pain and i have little love for this gadget. If it didn't cost what it did, I'd chuck it out the window. Text messaging and emailing is the biggest thorn in my side ever. My life with this thing goes like this - "Click, Click, BackSpace, Scream, Click, Oh Forget It All. I'll Just Flippin Call The Person Already!!!" Get my drift?!?! If i didn't feel like such a fool, i'd go back and reactivate my 8830, MY DREAM.

I love it when a tool doesn't just look kewl, it's easy to get started with â and within minutes, you're being creative and productive! I was on the market for a XY pad MIDI controller, and looked at contenders like the Korg nanoPAD, whose sibling, the nanoKONTROL, has been a valuable addition to my home studio. But then I recalled options exist for the iPod Touch, which I have, and they seemed like such a novel way to add usefulness to an already-fun gadget that does so many multimedia things well.
Several searches later, I was on the iTunes App Store looking at iTouchMidi Pad by Silicon Studios, and reading the few-but-strong reviews, I bought it. It was mere moments afterward that I was firing up drum loops in Ableton Live, having a lot of fun mapping iTM Pad to various settings and mangling sounds. The logical conclusion, since clear demos of things like this can be hard to come by, was to make a video review:
The iTM Pad works with other DAW hosts and even tho I'm familiar with it now, there's a w...

Of all the things the 50s promised us and then welched on, jet packs are
probably the most disheartening (after orgasm pills). Fortunately, however, where
the scientific establishment has let us all down, one Mexican home-inventor is
picking up the slack. From his backyard in Morelos, Juan Manuel Lozano has
engineered and test-flown a stable of rocket-powered conveyances, from rocket
belts to bikes to carts to the most ludicrous personal helicopter we've seen this
side of Inspector Gadget--each of them powered by his home-brewed ultra-pure
hydrogen peroxide jet fuel. He's like a one-man turn-of-the-century flying machine

LG Dare Video Review for this Friday's gadget video review.
LINK TO BUY:
http://www.Extreme-Days.com/buy/lgdar...
DESIGN: The design of the LG Dare is pretty awesome! I can't really find much to complain about with the design, I think they got it good!
BUTTON PLACEMENT: The button placement is pretty good on the LG Dare. The only thing I can complain about is how the call button can be pressed so easily, but other than that, LG did a great job on where they put the buttons.
SCREEN DURABILITY: The LG Dare's touch screen is fairly durable. I have never dropped my Dare or slid it screen down on anything, but I still have a few minor surface scratches on the screen. I think this is just from normal wear and tear of being used and being carried in my pocket. I've been careful never to carry anything in the same pocket as my Dare that could possibly scratch it so I'm not really sure where they came from.
UNLOCK GLITCH: When LG made their Dare they overlooked a slight glitch that was discovered. ...

The iPhone is far and away the hottest gadget on the market. Apple has sold over 6 million of them since the iPhone launched last year. And with the release of the cheaper and faster iPhone 3G, the company is sure to hit, and surpass, their goal of 10 million sold by the end of the year. But not everyone is happy with the iPhone's advanced touch screen technology... women with long fingernails are having lots of trouble getting the popular device to work for them. The iPhone's touchscreen is designed to respond to the electrical charge emitted by a person's fingertips, and since fingernails do not emit a charge, it becomes difficult for women with long nails to operate the touchscreen. 10.4 million women now use SmartPhones, a number that has more than doubled since last year, making females the fastest growing segment of users of these devices by far. So what can Apple do about their “fingernail problem?” Some consumers have demanded a stylus attachment for the iPhone, but others argue that ...
