One day I got lost in loving God in worship, and this clip is the result of it. This is only a portion of the total piece that went on for ten minutes. I got lost in spirit musically. Glory to God in Jesus Christ.

Live performance by Keisuke, recorded at the GeLou Studio Shanghai on April 24th 2021.
Keisuke Nishihara is a Japanese musician who plays the Sanshin, a traditional Japanese instrument made of three strings. His songs, which mainly comprised traditional folk song, take inspiration in cultural heritage, by mixing both the tunes of older popular Okinawan folk songs and his own tune composition.
In 2006, Keisuke traveled to Shanghai, where he decided to settle down and promote the Okinawan culture. Part of his tradition is not only food and drinks, but music plays as well an important role. The sanshin (三線, lit., "three strings"), which is the precursor of the mainland Japanese shamisen (三味線), is an instrument that is originated from Okinawa.
Often compared to a banjo, it consists of a snakeskin-covered body, a wooden neck and three strings.
The sanshin is considered the soul of Okinawan folk music. Played by youth as young as 2, to older people aged 100 or more, there is a sanshin in most Okinawan homes. It is used for any family gatherings or celebrations: weddings, birthdays, other celebrations, community parties, festivals.

In which we once again see that folk music is alive, well, and adapted to the times. If anything, it's more popular now than a decade ago. How did that happen?
American Brit Rocker Barry Keenan's song and video "Everything's Going To Be Fine" are very good. Keenan has a great singing voice and does a fantastic job with this very touching and inspirational song. The video shows a young boy and his drawings, which depict the song's lyrical content about how in spite of all of the bad things going on around us, if we concentrate on the love that's inside each and every one of us, everything will be alright. It's very creative to use a child, someone who is so innocent, to convey something that seems to be so complex to so many adults. If a child knows this, why don't we? The lyrics are solid and Keenan obviously has a very deep connection to his spiritual side and with the word. The folk music and vocal performance deliver the message solidly and with conviction. Baritone : Vladimir Matorin Conductor : Gennady Cherkasov Choir Directors : Klavdyi Ptitza & Lyumilla Ermakova Iosif Andriasov - "To the Mother-Earth," Cantata for Baritone Solo, Four Trombones, Two (or more) Harps, and Mixed Choir, Op. 25 The music of "To the Mother-Earth" is connected with the traditions of Russian epic music. What comes to mind is the folk music such as bylina (Russian epic), songs of glory, as well as some classical compositions: the first song of Bayan from "Ruslan and Lyudmila" by Mikhail Glinka ("Dela davno minuvshikh dnej"), the slow movement of the Second Symphony by Alexander Borodin, "About Olden Times" by Anatoly Lyadov, - to name a few. The second source of the composition is Armenian and Russian church music. The brilliant sonority of the Trombones (Brass instruments) invokes the music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Alexander Scriabin. Therefore, in "To the Mother-Earth," one can say about the amalgamation of secular and sacred, Armenian and Russian musical traditions. Iosif Andriasov showed himself as a great master of orchestration and a composer who understood the choral style. excerpt from "Essays on the Music of Iosif Andriasov" by Marta Andriasova (Marina Kudryashova) Copyright 2010. Sit in on this "living tradition" - an evening of free-flowing bluegrass and folk music. This monthly jam session fills the local arts center with a diverse group of musicians, amateur to professional, children to grandparents, all coming together to create "real music" that's different every time.
Joe Rock is not only known for his songwriting abilities but also for his dynamic live performances. For the better part of two decades, Joe has been writing and performing music all over the United States. Mr. Rock’s eclectic taste and diverse style of music has been heavily influenced by his extensive travels throughout the country. Be it the Mississippi Delta or Chicago's Blues, the Bluegrass of the South and West, the folk music of New England, or the Rock’n’Roll that is omnipresent in this country, Joe has been there and soaked the music into his heart, his mind and his soul. His life's experiences are reflected in his playing style and his voice. Joe is a front man for a Rock’n’Roll and a Blues band as well as a solo acoustic performer. Joe’s live performances include plenty of interaction with the audience and, on some inspired evenings, much audience participation. During his performances he assumes the role of a storyteller, comedian, music fan, songwriter, singer and friend. A Joe Rock show will not only include his varied styles of original music, but also a large array of music from many diverse artists.
The Paton and Palmer families mourn the loss of their beloved Kaelan, who drowned on June 16, 2009. We take comfort in the fact that two boys are alive and well who might not be, had it not been for KaelanâÂÂs efforts. He gave a hand up to the first, and went into a raging river in an attempt to help the second. The rescues were successful, but the rescuer was lost. The Memorial Service and a celebration of KaelanâÂÂs life was held on Sunday afternoon, July 12th, at the Sharon Center School, Hilltop Road, Sharon CT, starting at 1.p.m. The gathering began with the Memorial, followed by a Song Circle, then a pot-luck vegetarian meal in his honor. The celebration closed with a New England contra dance (which he loved), followed by more contemporary dancing. Cool and casual clothing were recommended; rainbow colors were welcome. A Kaelan Paton Memorial Fund has been established at Salisbury Bank and Trust, Box 7, Sharon, Connecticut 06069. KaelanâÂÂs father, David, and his sister, Linnea, hope to use the fund to further artistic and educational endeavors in the area, including, possibly, an annual folk music and dance festival in his honor.Tax-deductible contributions may be made to âÂÂKaelan Paton Memorial Fundâ and sent directly to the bank. Contributions in memory of Sandy Paton who died 40 days after Kaelan should also be sent there.

In this Vid you can see how one can play INDO-FLAMENCO-GUITAR-PERCUSSION, a Style of Guitar-Playing that I have created based on the essence of Flamenco and Raaga. A truely innovative Fusion of two worlds. The style is a combination of Guitar, Tabla and Congas all played on one acoustic guitar A JOURNEY ON THE ROUTES TO THE ROOTS : Part of the Flamenco roots can be traced to India. I was fortunate to learn about the depth of influence of Indian music on Flamenco in a Seminar on Flamenco at the SINTI & ROMA CENTER in HEIDELBERG a few years back. As I was always playing the guitar with percussion ( played simultaneously on the same guitar in one go ), I could further develop my style of playing the guitar. My style of playing is inspired by Flamenco, Indian Raaga / Indian Folk Music. For me, it has been and is always be like a JOURNEY on the MUSICAL-ROUTES to the MUSICAL-ROOTS. In this, Vid, I have played my own music JOURNEY ONE ( composed specially for this style of playing ). I have played on OVATION CELEBRITY Acoustic Guitar which is about 20 years old ! My guitar has taken, so to say, a lot of beatings as I play the strings and percussion simultaneously on this OVATION most of the times ! Inspite of this, The OVATION is still in perfect shape !
The latest addition to YouTune Records, from the new album of the same name. Dan Hubbs writes the songs, giving a new style and spirit to old-sounding folk music. It's very powereful and there's a touch of authentic genius there.

The gourd banjo is the earliest form of what we now know as the banjo, with direct ancestral roots to Africa. It is well-established that it was the African slaves in America who invented the gourd banjo.
The gourd banjo pre-dates the tackhead and minstrel banjos by at least a century. The gourd banjo, and its descendents, the tackhead and minstrel banjos, ultimately became a primary fixture in Appalachian folk music, which evolved into what we now call âOld-Timeâ or âRootsâ music, a distinctly American blend of African and Scots-Irish music. This music ultimately evolved into Bluegrass music in the 20th Century.
The original gourd banjos were unfretted, but some were retrofit with tied gut frets much like those used on the viola da gamba and the Renaissance fiddle.

Sunrise in Baie-Comeau sheds light on a new and promising day, especially if you're someone who loves nature.
In Baie-Comeau, do as I did, and get out on a boat. You may see whales — I did — but you'll definitely see signs of the force of nature, such as the glacial scarring on ancient granite rocks and waterfalls that tumble into the sea.
You can be as active as you like in Baie-Comeau. Attempt a daring Tyrolean traverse along the cliffs in the Garden of the Glaciers or buckle up to zip-line through forest canopy and across the water, coming so close if you're daring as to skim the water's cool and refreshing surface.
I particularly enjoyed the beach barbecue, where delicious slabs of salmon were roasted over a campfire, along with mouth-water scallops, and all of it washed down by good Canadian beer, some good wine and Acadian folk music inside a yurt, where a welcome fire kept away the September chill. Life hardly gets any better than this.
Southern Highlanders documents the traditions, folk song, work, and environment of the Appalachian mountain people living in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee and North Carolina. An educational video that illuminates all aspects of early Appalachian life, this film also contains great shots of the Smoky Mountains. The history of this poor but hard working people is shown here, with footage of women doing laundry and men farming the land. Some of the best moments come when mountain people are participating in traditional folk music, singing and dancing. Appalachian people created some of the best American folk music. Scenes of housework and farming are made even more interesting by the fact that every backdrop is the beautiful tableau of the Smoky Mountains, rich in color, but it's tinged by the sadness of poverty. Chock full of Appalachian mountain facts, Southern Highlanders is a part of Tennessee and North Carolina history.
