Episode guest are Colin Clark of Energy Action, and Sharlene Carlson from the County of Santa Clara Office of Sustainability talking about the Energy Upgrade California, a new, statewide program that offers incentives to homeowners who complete select energy-saving home improvements on a single-family residence. These incentive packages encourage customers to take a "whole house" approach by combining several related improvements at once to increase a home's overall energy efficiency and achieve greater savings. Ecology Action is a nonprofit environmental consultancy delivering cutting edge education services, technical assistance, and program implementation for initiatives that assist individuals, business and government to maximize environmental quality and community well being. Colin Clark is the Program Manager of the Climate Solutions group and is currently helping lead the establishment and delivery of the Energy Upgrade California Program. Ecology Action is the agreement administrator on behalf of the California Energy Commission for the California Energy Upgrade Program. This program is collaboration between the CA Public Utilities Commission, the utilities, local government partners, non-profits, and spans the entire state. Sharlene Carlson is the Community Energy Program Manager, as part of the County of Santa Clara Office of Sustainability. She oversees a $2 million dollar federal grant to market Energy Upgrade California.
