Shamila Chaudhary—U.S. Foreign Policy Challenges in South Asia: Past, Present and Future Shamila Chaudhary will discuss foreign policy change facing the United States in the aftermath of the September 11th attacks with a special focus on the region of South Asia. Ms. Chaudhary will draw from her own personal experiences of working in the United States government for 12 years, where she served at the U.S. Agency for International Development, U.S. Department of State, and the White House National Security staff. Shamila earned a B.A. in English and Women’s Studies (University and Department Honors) from the University of Toledo, an M.A. in Internal Affairs (Magna Cum Laude) from American University and completed the David L. Boren National Security Education Program Fellowship in Pakistan, 2000 (Urdu Language Course: Advanced-Mid Level language certification). Ms. Chaudhary currently serves as the Senior Advisor to the Dean of the Paul H. Nitze School for Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University. She also is a Senior South Asia Fellow of the New America Foundation. Ms. Chaudhary has authored over 20 papers for different publications and has spoken to groups all over the world. Steve Dettelbach—Priorities and Challenges of the U.S. Attorney’s Office Steven M. Dettelbach will discuss law enforcement challenges and priorities in Northwest Ohio including firearms violence and civil rights violations. Mr. Dettelbach was nominated by President Obama on July 10, 2009 and unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate on September 15, 2009 as United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio. He comes to his position as chief federal law enforcement officer for the northern forty counties of Ohio with a wealth of varied experience. Mr. Dettelbach previously served for over 12 years as a career federal prosecutor. During those years, he worked at the Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, Criminal Section; U.S. Attorneys Offices in Maryland and Washington, D.C.; and from 2003 to 2006 in the Northern District of Ohio, as a member of the Organized Crime and Corruption Strike Force. Among the high-profile cases he prosecuted were those against Nate Gray and former East Cleveland Mayor Emmanuel Onunwor, who were both convicted of taking part in a pay-to-play scheme involving bribes in Cleveland, East Cleveland, Houston and New Orleans. He also won convictions in what was, at the time, the largest human trafficking case ever brought in the United States, in which approximately 70 Thai women were held against their will and forced to work in El Monte, California. He sat on Attorney General Eric Holder’s Advisory Council and chaired the subcommittee on Civil Rights. Most recently, Mr. Dettelbach was a partner at the law firm of Baker & Hostetler, LLP. Mr. Dettelbach graduated from Dartmouth College in 1988 and from Harvard Law School in 1991. He lives in Solon with his wife and two children.

Salim K. Najjar, PDG District 6560, Rotary Club of Carmel, Indiana. Salim came to the U.S. from Lebanon in 1958 at the age of 17 to go to college. He attended Louisiana State University and completed his engineering studies at Tri State College in Angola, Indiana. He began his career as a bridge design engineer for the Indiana Highway Department. Salim joined the Rotary Club of Indianapolis in 1982 and served a two-year term on the Board of Directors in 1988-90. In 2001 Salim led a Group Study Exchange Team to District 4590 in Brazil. Bob is well known through out Rotary District 6600 and the Rotary world for his work in helping Rotary bring potable water to areas of need.
Dr. Vincent is a full professor in the Department of Geology at Bowling Green State University, which he joined in 1993. Before that, he was the founder and President of GeoSpectra Corporation and BioImage Corporation in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He holds a Ph.D. in Geology from the University of Michigan, M.S. in Physics from the University of Maryland, and B.S. in Physics and B.A. in Math from Louisiana Tech University. He was a LANDSAT I Principal Investigator, while at Willow Run Laboratories (now ERIM) at the University of Michigan, and he has written a text book entitled Fundamentals of Geological and Environmental Remote Sensing, Prentice Hall (1997), in addition to numerous other technical publications.

Lopez was at the intersection of Cortez Street near Balboa Street in Needles, California where San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department were searching for somebody late Friday night. ZachNews received a news tip from Jodie Leah in Needles, California that San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Deputies were saying to those living in the area to, "Stay inside with our doors locked and call 911 if we notice anything," and that San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Deputies are, "In their vehicles with spotlights up and down the street. The guy their looking for parked the SUV. He was driving right across the street from me." ZachNews later received a news tip from Oddt Illerm in Needles, California that San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department has found the person in a nearby housing complex in Needles, California; possibly near the area of Bailey Avenue and J Street. Unconfirmed Reports that the person that San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department were searching for may have been hitting on a women. UK pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline will plead guilty and pay a record breaking $3bn, to settle the largest case of healthcare fraud in US history. The settlement comes after a probe by the US Justice Department that investigated the company's marketing practices for nine of its products. GlaxoSmithKline pleaded guilty to misbranding the drugs Paxil, Wellbutrin and Avandia. Prosecutors claimed the company had encouraged the use of anti-depressant drug Paxil for children, even though it was not approved by anyone under the age of 18. Wellbutrin was also pushed for uses it was not approved for, including weight loss and sexual dysfunction. GSK failed to report safety data about diabetes drug Avandia to the Food and Drug Administration.
June 25, 2012 - "Toledo Navy Week Activities" - Deputy Chief Thomas Jaksetic Toledo Fire and Rescue Department Deputy Chief Thomas Jaksetic was appointed to the Toledo Fire and Rescue Department in 1984 and currently has oversight of the Homeland Security/Special Operations and Training Bureaus. Tom is a recipient of the State of Ohio Medal of Valor and Fire House National Heroism Awards. Tom was appointed to the Homeland Security/Special Operations Bureau in 2002 and tasked with building a regional rescue capability and oversight of the department’s technical rescue teams. Tom was promoted to battalion chief in 2008 and given additional responsibilities to include grant writing and grant oversight upon which he submitted and was awarded a $2.9 million American Recovery and Reinvestment Act grant for construction of a new fire station. Fire Station 6 will be dedicated this September 11, 2012. Tom maintains Ohio Department of Homeland Security clearance and is a member of the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force, USCG Area Maritime Security Committee, and a number of state technical advisory committees. Tom also is responsible for major event planning and response. Most recently, Tom was appointed by Mayor Michael Bell to serve has the City of Toledo’s point of contact for Navy Week Toledo.
