Grab some popcorn, this epic three hour collection of ancient Counter-Strike flashmovies will bring you back to the dark ages of the internet. This is a collection of old Counter-Strike flashes from the year 2000-2003. The flashes were taken from several sites, such as CStoons, CSnation, CScentral, CSbanana and Newgrounds (Don't hate me, Tom Fulp). Making this compilation together with my own animations took me about 1 1/2 weeks of non-stop work. I take no credit for any of the flashes inside the collection. The only things I created myself were: Intro, Outro, Credits and a new explosion. The other stuff I did though was massive editing, resyncing of sound and converting. See below for additional info. I made some modifications to the following parts: -RzE introduction video: I added music to this flash, as it had no sound what so ever. -Casino scene: I added new sound effects to the CT part, as it had almost no sound. -Counter-Tom: Cut the super-annoying, overly long shooting sequence down to a minimum. -The "Live Well" flash had a convertion problem, I tried to fix it but it's much slower than it should be. (EDIT: This flash is broken, it's completely black. Probably another video conversion problem) -I added a new handmade explosion effect for RzE's dance. (It was previously a flashbang effect, eventhough the grenade said HE on it) -RzE Jeepathon2k: I replaced the hamster dance music at the end of the flash with a new sound that fits the situation better. -CS school: Added coughing in one part to the almost silent flash. -CS punchout: Added an old computer (ATARI ST) loading sound.

I produced and edited this profile of Allan Alcorn for the PBS affiliate in the Silicon Valley, KTEH (now branded as KQED+). You probably know that Al is the Father of PONG, but you're going to amazed when you find out the other projects he's had his hand in. Personally, it was a real treat for me to meet Al and spend a few hours with him. Very similar to the structure of Guy Kawasaki's piece: there's an opening scene, a linear story of his life, then a return to the opening scene (which allows me to re-cap the story you were just told). Graphically, it's based on the box of the Atari home version of PONG. Not an outright copy, but it uses the curved line and the bands of orange color. The rest of the graphics were a real egg hunt. Al provided a few pictures from the 1970s, but the rest came from trolling around on Atari tribute sites. I was very sad to cut out an early section about the importance of his Berkeley years. He witnessed the tear gassing of rioters on Telegraph Avenue and considers it to be an important event in his life. It took about thirty seconds for Al to tell the story, and it was only cut because This Is Us had to fit it's running time.
The BBC Music is proud to present you today a remix of Modestep's popular song "Sunlight" by Calvertron and Helicopter Showdown! Expect more filth in this one. While this piece of work keeps the chilled vibe of the original song, the bit sounds and the glitchy synths lay on a deep bassline to add to the melody that I would classify as a banger.
Modestep's song "Sunlight" has received quite a lot of edifying critics and for cause. Behind this name hide brothers Tony and Josh Fiend who have individually been DJing since 2001, only forming the band in 2010 with Josh's roommate Matthew Curtis and more recently guitarist Nick Tsang. Basically they're two guitarists, one drummer and one vocalist alongside the inevitable dub work. This combination of hard rock and electro definitely helped in their acclamation from the public.
Calvertron, for his part, started learning to produce with Cubase on an old Atari ST computer in the late 90â²s. There were no softsynths back then, you had to buy thousands of ...

[Note: All of this footage is from the US except for the black & white stuff, that's Berlin. But all the color footage is from Seattle & Washington DC]
In 2000 I gave a DiY Media presentation at 2600's Hackers On Planet Earth conference. The topic was media-bias/become-the-media and I basically juxtaposed news footage of the 1999 Seattle WTO protests with documentary video footage shot in the streets by activists... obviously the news footage was heavily biased and edited (as was the street footage, to be fair, but that was also part of the point).
Atari Teenage Riot saw the street footage and wanted to help get it seen by a wider audience, so we decided to cut it into a video for their song "Rage" and encourage it to be made freely available. At the time, Atari had just played a renegade set on the back of a truck at a Mayday protest in Berlin where they were arrested, so I decided to include that protest footage as well as footage from the World Bank protests in DC (and I have to thank the DC police ...
