Die Arbeiter im Tal der Könige müssen sich beeilen, ihre Arbeit am Grab rechtzeitig fertig zu stellen. Im Auftrag des Baumeisters holt der Koffer den Sargdeckel aus Granit vom Steinbruch. Doch der Deckel ist zu groß und passt nicht durch das Eingangsportal zum Grab! Der Koffer wird beschuldigt, einen Fehler gemacht zu haben und wird in der Wüste bei sengender Hitze allein gelassen. Der kurzsichtige Baumeister ahnt zwar, dass er selbst die Schuld trägt, wagt aber nicht, sie einzugestehen.
