In 2008, the "Hayman" strikes again in the form of an epidemic of pine bark beetles harbored in the Hayman Burn area- now predicted to destroy the entire population of lodgepole pines across Colorado, which may feed a cycle of even larger wildfires.

A wildfire breaks out in the SE Oklahoma City Metro Area. On the afternoon of 1/27/2008 a pretty big wildfire consumes dry brush. The flames were fueled by high winds, dry brush and broken tree limbs from the December ice storm. Last report was no injuries and one unoccupied home was destroyed.
