Richard Cogdell is the Director of the Institute for Molecular Cell and Systems Biology at the University of Glasglow, Scotland. In 1995, Richard's research group, in collaboration with others, used protein crystallography to determine the three dimensional structure of a light-harvesting complex from the purple bacterium, Rhodospsedomas acidophilia. This breakthrough led to two key elements in the understanding of bacterial photosynthesis. One, once you have established the structure you can understand its function. Two, this view of a light-harvesting complex attracted an interdisciplinary group of scientists from the fields such as chemistry, physics, mathematics and biology. Richard's current challenge is to take the process of photosynthesis (using solar energy to make a fuel) and apply it to the world's energy needs in a sustainable manner.

There are lots of fairy tales and bedtime stories around and many of them quite violent. This made me decide to try writing something different. On a flight from Europe to Australia I watched the movie Magic on Belle Island with Morgan Freeman, where he teaches a little girl to have imagination and write her first story. This inspired me as well and in the following sleepless nights because of the West to East flight, which somehow always seems to have this effect on us, the first stories with my two characters Oliver the cat and Jumpy the kangaroo made their appearance. I have written over 40 stories by now. There is no violence worth talking about but enough adventure to keep them interesting. These are 1000 word short stories and would suit pre-schoolers to primary school. I had incredible luck to find a great young artist who is illustrating my stories successively. There are three stories available on Youtube now and the fourth will come on presently. Depending on the illustrator, I will publish further stories in intervals of about three weeks. I hope very much that many children will find access to my videos and I will eventually create an Android App as well. Please enjoy and let others know about my videos. God bless! Regards Werner

Jack Austin Warner was born in Rio Claro, South Trinidad on January 26, 1943. Warner and his three sisters and two brothers were almost single-handedly brought up by their mother Stella, a simple, hard working woman with a firm belief in God. This year, they presented the CLA, the Avant-Gardistic little brother of the CLS. They’re also celebrating the world premiere of the A 45 AMG and the European premiere of newest generation of the E-Class.     Together, these three models offer a combination of a fun driving experience and efficient fuel consumption. For example; the new CLA, which has a CD value of 0.22; awards this new entry level Mercedes with a world record.

Introduction was given by new Chamber of Commerce Chairman Thua Barlay, emceed by NAACP President Willie Gibson, songs led by Coroner and Pastor George Levett, Jr. of Crawfordville Baptist and Pastor J. Phillip Baker of Shady Grove Baptist, invocation given by Pastor Billie Cox of Macedonia Baptist, introduction of the speaker given by Pastor Al Sadler of the Church of New Beginning, and benediction given by Pastor Carolyn Carlisle of Pleasant Hill CME.
