Today at Moscone Center in San Francisco, Phil Schiller delivered the annual WWDC keynote and introduced a couple new products including a 13-inch MacBook Pro and a faster iPhone 3G that Apple is calling the 3GS. New 13-Inch MacBook Pro Safari 4 Out of Beta OSX Snow Leopard Available in September for $29 Tom Tom for iPhone iPhone 3G S
Apple pre-empted the Windows 7 Launch with update announcements of their own. The thing I'm excited about the most is the Magic Mouse. It looks kind of like a Mighty Mouse, but it's multi-touch. It'll be available at the end of October. They updated the iMac. There's a 21.5" and 27" version in true 16:9 aspect ratio. There are two Mac Mini versions. One runs OSX Server, has two 500GB hard drives and no optical drive. The MacBook is going unibody. It'll have an LED backlit display, a glass multi-touch trackpad and a built in battery that will last up to seven hours. Robert Clain and Miguel Salas created the Fart Detector as their Senior Project at Cornell. I'd prefer to stay far away from this one! Panasonic announced the Lumix DMC-GF1. It has 12.1 megapixel stills and artistic presets called My Colors to give you film-like beauty without post work. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a mic input. Gadgets and Gizmos has a frame that has a proximity sensor. You put in a real photo, and when someone gets close, snow will swirl in front of the picture. The BookArc is a great holder for a MacBook, MacBook Air or MacBook Pro when you want to use it in Closed Clamshell Mode. Creative Vado got an update. There's a 4GB version and and 8GB version, plus they'll be releasing Vado Central for OSX that will make it easy to import video into iMovie. On Brief 512, we go back to Macworld where we talk about Savant, my favorite home automation system. We've talked about Savant a few times on GeekBrief.TV and did an interview on Geek Brief Radio, but Macworld was my first chance to see the gorgeous onscreen interface in person. Because the Savant system is built on top of OSX and uses Mac hardware, they take advantage of core animation and the result is a navigation system that looks really, really nice.

This time I review the RSS reader NetNewsWire. I happen to personally use NetNewsWire but have tried paid alternatives and haven't found anything that can match up to it. I really like the syncing with the iphone. Easily one of the better OSX RSS readers.
I rate this app 9/10.
burn-osx.sourceforge.net/ - Burn's Website
In this Episode I review the open source CD and DVD burning application Burn. What I like about Burn is that the user interface is simple and didn't get in my way when trying to do simple things. My biggest problem with the app is that it does not show you how much space is reaming on the disk. I also had an issue with burning a divX movie.
I rate this app 7/10.
Got an Apple Mighty Mouse but haven’t started taking advantage of all the cool right-clicking features in Digidesign Pro Tools yet? What are you waiting for! In this video, Chris Bryant shows you a simple OSX Mouse setting that will make the mighty mouse….even mightier.

I have received some email asking why we use a mac here at FrugalBrothers. To me it's a great computer that you can that you can run as a windows machine or run Apple OSX. One of the best presentation applications called Keynote is the best presentation software I know of.
In 1935, Frank Lloyd Wright designed a country house for the Kaufmann family over a small stream in Western Pennsylvania. He named it Fallingwater. It, perhaps more than any other building, exemplifies Wright’s concept of ‘Organic Architecture,’ which seeks to harmonize people and nature by integrating the building, the site, and its inhabitants into a unified whole. And today, the iconic image of the house over the waterfall, remains a testament to a great architect working at the height of his career.
Disc One: Documentary Film
Lynda Waggoner, Director of Fallingwater, along with architectural historian, Richard Cleary, provide an in-depth look into the creation of Fallingwater and the exceptional qualities which make it a true American Masterpiece.

I remember first seeing a mosaic picture I think it was back in the time of the movie 'The Truman Show'. You know the one where the main picture is actually made up of heaps of smaller pictures, whose colours shape the outlines of the main picture.
