Philly Clark and I hung out a lot behind the video mix/record decks at Vloggercon . He said he'd mix up my small part of the Mashup/Remix panel. He did. Took a long time to take a peek at the footage. Wow. Thanks, Philly. You'll need the latest version of Quicktime to play this 'un.
This is Public Service Announcement from the Miami Vice Police Department. It's hosted by Det. Tubbs and Det. Crockett from our Vice Squad. Listen up for an important message about Lightbulbs. You can also see this before the movie Miami Vice at Alamo Drafthouse Theatres across Texas.

PUNKCAST#77301 - This is the opening number of the punkcast VCD of The Long Blondes' show at NYC's Cake Shop last midsummer, one of the most popular we have ever produced. The song 'Lust In The Movies' was also the band's very first single in the UK. The band hails from Sheffield, home of some of the best classic post-punk, and currently a thriving hotbed of new music. The mix is a bit uneven, as the band settles down and Cake Shop sound guy gets a handle on them, but the song is bound to hook you to the Long Blonde sound. More info on http://punkcast.com/773
And the messy results
It started out as a normal burrito meeting in the front yard, a tradition we work to uphold in our social circle. We all gather and sit at the table, in the front yard, for a burrito fest were we can connect to each other, and become closer and better friends.
This time was different. A few new people came, along with a reporter, and the volatile mix caused a chain reaction of events I don’t think any of us will ever understand. Before we could even asses the situation, chaos broke loose, and the inner animal inside of everyone took over.
Thank kramdar someone brought a camera.
The Electric House starts with Buster's graduation ceremony as the first of his comic misfortunes, including a mix-up of diplomas so Buster receives a diploma in electrical engineering. This leads to a job opportunity: electrifying the family house of the girl he's sweet on. A great chance, so Buster studies hard and soon installs a useful and impressive set of electric appliances.
Here's my Webzine 2005 vlog, for real this time. And, really, the first thing I'd actually consider a vlog that I'm sending down this pipe: it's the first time I've made video specifically for this purpose, as opposed to appropriating something that was intended for another purpose.
After making this, I'm not sure I want to sit down and write a bunch about the conference. The abstractness of this little vlog is probably doing a better job of expressing the mix of call-to-action urgency and bohemian giddiness that infused the event. For me, it was more transformative in spirit than in anything tangible, and so a less-direct way of getting at that seems appropriate. I should note, too, that Webzine being emotionally effective actually seems more significant to me.
The audio you hear in the background is from Jacob Applebaum's speech at Webzine. His media activism really framed the entire conference for me and (I think) many others. You can download the entire speech here (10.8MB MP3). It's very worth a listen, though the audio quality might impair the impact a bit. Plus, at the event,
The music is "Our Time" by Imperial Teen.
The bad photos and video are mine (my ghetto camera is only partly to blame), but special thanks to Cirne , boogah , Ted Rheingold , Jacob Applebaum , Niall Kennedy , and Laughing Squid for the borrowed photos (more here ).
Practical note from the conference: Talk to strangers.
I'm terrible at this, but I must be better.
