Week 3 of the Film-a-Week Project. This is a short film excercise called ?Tomorrow.? It?s 24 seconds long, and was filmed on a low-end Sony miniDV camera, using the slow-shutter in a dark room. It started as an experiment with the trails of a cigarette heater captured using slow shutter, and I tried my [...]
Shawn Collins of http://blog.affiliatetip.com talks about replacing his Flip Camera with the Casio Exilim EX-Z1200 for better quality and sound, as well as the Canon VIXIA HV30 MiniDV High Definition Camcorder for some video blogging.
I recorded two other segments as the Skyliner express train zipped along from Narita to Tokyo. The third is on MiniDV, but there's someting I've not yet been able to figure out about transferring video to the hard drive.

This movie, wow, needs work. But this was years ago. I shot this movie at Long Beach City College back in 1993. Shot on S-VHS and MiniDV, then dubbed to professional digital tape Panasonic DVC-PRO, I begun post-production in 1996.
See the Teaser Trailers here for more video footage that never got added to the edited master.
Well, the fact is that I never completed post and has been collecting dust ever since. Since DVC-PRO VTRs cost $30,000 each, I have not seen this video in over 10 years. Now for the first time, I am able to see this video and other videos.
KEEP IN MIND: This is the video edit only. The audio sweetening has and will never be completed. The vocal overdub has not be completed either.

This is probably my favorite project because it was the one that really got my career off the ground. I shot it as a sophomore in college in the fall of 2003 in Tanzania, with additional interviews shot in New York. It became my senior thesis and was donated to Cross-Cultural Solutions as a marketing tool. Since, it has been viewed by thousands of people on the company website and I received the Award for Innovation in Education from Drexel University in 2005 for the video.
It was shot on miniDV and edited in Final Cut Pro 4, with the opening title created in 3-D Studio Max courtesy of David Kant and WhalesTales Producitons. The video features an original track by Craig DeMaio and drum beats that I made using a program called Ejay 4.
The movie was filmed during one day of shooting with the use of just one miniDV handheld camera. "The Boxman" was produced during a seminar on using Cinema as a tool on issues of Inclusion. "Shots of Inclusion" took place in the provincial town of Gravina, Italy and was sponsored by E.U.
An inhospitable appearance bothers the people around.
