Oguri Shun (Crows Zero, Hana Yori Dango) stars as a mad emperor in acclaimed theater director Ninagawa Yukio's controversial stage production Caligula. Ninagawa's version of Albert Camus's famous play delves into the life, mind, and times of Caligula, the third emperor of the Roman Empire. Records of Caligula generally depict him as a cruel, wasteful, perverse, and insane tyrant who executed many, expended royal coffers, legislated on personal whims, and anointed himself a living god. First staged in 1945, Camus's influential play, however, interprets Caligula's actions not as insanity but as absurdity, deliberate and arbitrary abuse of authoritarian power in reaction to a meaningless world.
Wearing only a loincloth for much of the play, Oguri Shun bares his body and soul to portray the complex role of Caligula, breathing life into the historical anti-hero and the classic Camus production. Oguri Shun also previously appeared in Ninagawa's Shakespeare productions As You Like It, Hamlet, and The Comedy of Errors, but this is his most important and challenging stage role yet. This DVD release of Caligula records the November 21, 2007 performance at Bunkumura Theater Cocoon in Tokyo.

Pretty much my day at the Chugai gym. I show you a sparring match. Me training a kid. Me interviewing the coach and Matsui-san. The coach gave me an autograph of a former champion, Hiroki Ioka. You can look him up on youtube. The guy I interview is Matsui-san. He's 31 years old and is taking his test next week. He took up boxing to fix his self-confidence

Brought to the brothels as a child, rebellious Kiyoha (Tsuchiya Anna) stands out even as a young girl, repeatedly talking back, challenging authority, and running away. Her brazen streak stays with her as she grows up to be a sassy straight-talking courtesan with a quick temper and a natural knack for her job. Taking her first patron at the age of 17, she hurls forward without looking back, as she fends off rivalries and rises to the top status of oiran. From the men who come in and out of her life - first love Sojiro (Narimiya Hiroki), brothel clerk Seiji (Ando Masanobu), wealthy samurai Kuranosuke (Shiina Kippei) - Kiyoha tastes hope, heartbreak, and that relentless quest for freedom. But like a goldfish, she is beautiful and prized only as long as she remains in the fishbowl.

Yuuji is still a first-grade student, he is having a very hard time understanding what has happened to his mother and the fact that she won't be coming back.
At the very beginning of the first episode, the voice of the late mother (played by Mimura) is reading from a picture book that she wrote for Yuuji before she died. It is about a mother who dies, but promises to return when the rainy season comes. Yuuji believes in this story and thinks that his mother will come back when the rainy season comes. And surprisingly... she actually does.
When it begins raining on a June morning, Yuuji runs out into the forest to the special place where he used to play with his mother. His father, Takumi (played by Narimiya Hiroki) chases after him to get him to go to school. When they arrive at the old ruined building where they used to play, Yuuji's mother, Mio is waiting there completely alive and healthy, but she has no memory of them or anything that occurred during her life. episode 1: 6-Week Miracle
