Roman Ryapolov is one of the elite Russian runners. He took part in 2 WOCs: Sweden 2004 and Japan 2005. This year Roman was not selected for Russian team. What goals for the last part of the season for Roman? We talked with Roman at July 28 on LS-37 competition in Lahti, Finland. Roman got 3rd place 4min 20sec behind Jani Lakanen; Finnish top runners were still in Sweden on O-Ringen, but not all. Roman was born in Stary Oskol town, near with Belgorod - the hometown of many Russian elite runners: Valentin, Julia and Leonid Novikovs, Darja Smolik, Roman Efimov, Evgeny Paladiev. This year Roman moved from Belgorod team to Moscow - Russian capital. In Finland Roman Ryapolov running for Lynx club. (C) 2007 woO-TV / Alexander Lebedev

In November 1939, when Finland was invaded by the Soviet Union, no one expected that this tiny nation could resist the largest military force in the world. And no one anticipated that 1939 would be one of the coldest winters in recorded history, what historians have called a frozen hell.
