Ten years ago, women, especially moms, helped make SUVs top sellers because of their roominess, safety and command view of the road. Now, women are driving sales of a new generation of "family car," the crossover.
A crossover is a vehicle that looks like an SUV, but is actually built like a car. They are more comfortable, have a smoother ride and better fuel economy than their truck-based SUV cousins. And unlike SUVs, many are being designed with women and their needs in mind. In fact, carmakers like Chevrolet are bringing in their top female designers and engineers to make sure these family haulers have all the right tools.
These female automakers are making sure the vehicles are equipped with extra safety features, storage and family-friendly accessories. Putting real mothers in charge of engineering, design, quality and manufacturing is like having the ideal customers behind the wheel from start to finish.

An amazing vintage film that illuminates the history of communications, Telephone and Telegraph is a phenomenal historical experience. As the film reveals, telegraph jobs were similar to those in the growing telecommunications field of the 1940s. There is stock footage of a late 19th century Western Union office and a Bell telephone, as well as a lot of great video of analog equipment. Most interestingly, the film also reveals the gender roles of the era when it divides the available telecommunications jobs up by sex, saying that some jobs just werenât open to "girls." Men were encouraged to get a college degree, which would help them in their careers as engineers, couriers, executives, installers and others. Women, on the other hand, are told that they could work as operators, clerks, or secretaries. This vintage film illuminates the history of telecommunications like no other!

On the surface, this 1956 film may seem like an average documentary film, but like most of films from the Moody Institute of Science, there is an ulterior motive. While revealing the complexity of nature, their films would end with Moon saying that this complexity was part of God's plan rather than evolution. Moody Institute of Science films were marketed to churches and also to public schools where today even the mention of the word "God" sparks a conflagration of protests and court cases.
