Joan Crawford:
Joan Crawford (March 23, c. 1904–1908 – May 10, 1977) was an American actress. Starting as a dancer in traveling theatrical companies before debuting on Broadway, Crawford was signed to a motion picture contract by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in 1925. Initially frustrated by the size and quality of her parts, Crawford began a campaign of self-publicity and became nationally known as a flapper by the end of the 1920s. In 1933 they co-founded an art movement called New Subjective Classicism better known as Post Surrealism. Lundeberg considered herself a less strict hard-edger as her work was not strictly abstract but contained architectural elements and often represents architectural space. She died in Los Angeles.

A pacifist, internationalist and utopian idealist, Kahn decided to use his private fortune to improve understanding between the nations of the world. To this end, he created what he called his Archive of the Planet. For the next two decades, he dispatched professional photographers to document the everyday lives of people in more than 50 countries all around the world. Kahn's wealth enabled him to supply his photographers with the most advanced camera technology available. They used the autochrome - the first user-friendly camera system capable of producing true-colour photographs.
Some of the most important of all the 72,000 colour images in Kahn's Archive were shot during three separate visits (in 1908, 1912 and 1926) to Japan. As an international financier, Kahn had established a network of contacts that included some of the most prominent members of Japan's business, banking and political elites. Consequently, Kahn's photographers were granted privileged access to places that would have otherwise been off limits - including some of the royal palaces, where they shot colour portraits of the princes and princesses from Japan's Imperial family. But some of their most fascinating images capture moments from the lives of ordinary Japanese people at work and play. This film showcases Kahn's treasury of films and autochromes of silk-farmers, Shinto monks, schoolchildren, porcelain merchants, Kabuki stars and geishas - pictures that were recorded at a time when this fascinating country was going through momentous changes.

Das Equipment ist nicht sehr ausgereift, und die Gefahren des Tauchens sind noch nahezu unbekannt. Fast täglich kommt es zu Unfällen. Trotzdem gelingt es der Expedition, riesige Säulen, kostbare Statuen und andere wertvolle Kunstwerke zu bergen. Aber woher stammen die Artefakte? Diese Fragen beschäftigen noch heute die moderne Wissenschaft.

La seua comissaria, l'arquitecta Mar Loren, no te dubtes a l'hora de qualificar a Guastavino com "un visionari el paper del qual va resultar basic en la configuracio d'un nou tipo de ciutat moderna, de la que Nova York es el millor eixemple". Rafael Guastavino, tant el pare com el fill, es van convertir en peces clau del desenroll de les grans urbs nort-americanes en el transit entre els segles XIX i XX, i de les seues mans van ser creats molts dels edificis emblematics de ciutats com Boston, Washington, Baltimore, Chicago i, sobretot, Nova York, ciutat tan identificada en Guastavino que quan este va morir, en 1908, el New York Times no va dubtar a assegurar en la seua necrologica que havia mort "l'arquitecte de Nova York".
