This is a video that I made that shows how to add sub division levels and open up displacement baking to a resurfaced mesh after detail and color has been projected from anouther mesh.
Here is how you can take a hi res mesh, resurface it, then project the detail and color of that Hi res mesh to your new retopologized mesh. Very cool stuff.
