市の空き地と言われている土地ですが、立派な石碑付きの記念樹が植えられています。 近隣住民によるボランティア活動で、この緑地広場と記念樹の維持活動が行われています。 せっかく植樹された枝垂れ桜があるのに、この土地は封鎖・売却案が示され、地域自治会が借地として この記念樹の命を守ることになり、ボランティア活動で奮闘中です。

地域の緑地と記念樹のある広場（市の空き地）の環境改善活動をボランティアで行っています。 ２００１年に植樹された二十一世紀記念樹の枝垂れ桜の開花期の様子です。 住民がボランティアで草取り、草刈り、清掃などの維持活動を行わないと、この緑地広場は封鎖・売却となるそうで、地域住民の参加を募って維持できるよう努力しているところです。 この記念樹以外の木々は、三年前に全て伐採されました。

封鎖・売却案が示されていた市の空き地でしたが、 地域の自治会が借地としボランティアを募り、地道な環境活動により 美しい緑地広場の景観が蘇りつつあります。 この土地には２００１年に二十一世紀記念樹として枝垂れ桜が植樹されており、立派な石碑もあります。 荒廃していた緑地広場は、三年間に亘るボランティア活動で、今日に至ります。 当地も含め、市の山間地域には、公園や広場がなく、ベンチなども壊れ、雑草の勢いは凄まじく 問題は山積していますが、一歩一歩出来る事をしているところです。
